Jubilee

Hope springs, as a Mountain Stream
Flowing, screaming into a watery Dream
greater is He who lives in me
He who brings heavenly Jubilee

I fear nothing but being afraid
As a wintery wind does fade
So does life bloom in spring
Jubilee flows as a heart Sing

From stream to river below
Courage found in the rushing flow
Orange blossoms bloom with Jubilee
Life exploding for all to see

My hope is found in thee
My fount of Jubilee
No longer wandering stranger
I’ve found peace in the danger

May we all come to know

May the whole earth and its inhabitants
Come to know of Your power and might
Before it is too late to reveal the conviction
That Jesus is Lord and this world’s true Light

May the whole earth and all who live thereon
Know the Truth of Your love and heart’s delight
May the whole population of the earth’s neighborhood
Look forward to Your coming to make all things right

May the whole earth, snuggled in Your loving comfort
Look forward to the day when You come to recieve
Every soul, every tribe of each mortal aggregation,
Who has by faith learned to trust and truly believe.

May the whole earth learn the ways of Your peace,
So different from the plans and schemes of mankind;
May the whole earth rejoice in the promises You made
Concerning forgiveness and life eternal which in Jesus we find.

May whole world, Lord, not just those who think they
Know all there is to know about Your truth in their way,
Discover the height, and bredth, width and depth of Love
Sent for all who will understand and accept Your only Way!

daydreaming of lint

here i sit upon this craggy cliff
i justify all my indiscrepancies
will i linger in this miff
or blame certain complexities

little do i realize that
angels linger near my heart
and despite my being bald and fat
Jesus is into that saving part

so linger do i no longer and
sit lazily down here in the sand
i get up and then dance away
my chains not iron… they were clay

i raffle off what is left
my stability is all bereft
i sit and ponder with friends
just how to go and make amends

euthanasia, abortion rights,
i tire of wondering what is right
why can’t i live why can’t i die,
i’m scared of both, but still i try

these things belong; these things i think…
they belong in the kitchen sink
they belong to me,
i think, i think.

i depend on strangers to make my food.
i depend on the poor to harvest my coffee.
i stand unique alone, un-meek.
i belong to the set apart elite.

but for some obtuse reason, it doesn’t fit.
this doesn’t fit, this thought life crime.
these thoughts i think…
are they still mine?

here i sit upon this craggy cliff
i justify all my indiscrepancies
little do i realize that
Jesus is into that saving part

treasures

What is your treasure?
Is it gold, silver, stones, or money?
Is it job security, prestige, or notoriety?
Is it swimming pools, cars, or homes?
Where are your treasures?
Are they in your pocket, or in your heart?
Are your treasures sure to last?
I carry my treasures in my heart…
My treasures are the faces -
colors of yellow, red, black, brown, and white;
tears of joy, and smiles.
My treasures are the people of a great, big world…
made small by love.
My treasures are the waves, nods, handshakes, hugs, and kisses.
My treasures are the laughter of little children,
and the wisdom and advice of those who have gone before me.
My treasure is having a family to love -
in trusting them – completely;
In looking at my children and holding them
and knowing that they are a gift from God.
My treasure is the love of God,
Who gave His only Son;
it is in following Jesus,
it is in listening to and obeying His Holy Spirit
and it is in reading His Word.
My treasures can never be taken away or destroyed.
What are your treasures,
and where do you keep them?!!

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where moth and rust do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

fresh with love

the morning rises
and i
rise as well
fresh with love
that comes in my dreams

when you touch me
dear Lord
all is well
and i
know Your heart deeper

after waking
i bathe, eat
and i
sing to You
of Your glory

and i
know Your depth
Your pain
so thankful
for all You have done

knowledge
knowing
fresh with love
i awake with You
and i

people

All about me people are rushing – trying to get somewhere…
But really, they’re headed for “who knows where?”
They consume themselves with worries and gaining treasures of this earth,
But so many have never understood God’s second birth.
Lord, here am I; send me…I’ll go!
Lord, send me that just one may know!
I’ve looked in their eyes – there is no sacrifice too great!!
Let us reach them with Your Gospel before it’s too late.

God’s love

We can’t do anything to make God love us more.
We can’t do anything to make God love us less.

God’s love is . . .
Unearned
Undeserved
Unfailing
Unlimited
Unending
Unwavering
Unfaltering
Undeniable
Unconditional
Deep
Wide
Long
High

God’s love is not . . .
Unavailable
Until
Unless
Unattainable
Uncertain
Unsure
Unsightly
Unfavourable

God’s nature.
God’s character.

“God is love!”

Oh to have my mouth shut

They have a theory
You have a theory
That all the earth
Is caught up in His hand
And children and creatures of God alike
Are precious and loved by Him alone

We have a belief
You have a belief
That God in heaven
Will redeem the saints
For the powers of this dark world
From the ravages of Satans sifting

We have a cause
I have a cause
There is no one greater
Before myself or God
Than the pauper, the lame or blind
For he left us to go find them

I have a mission
You have a mission
We do not have an excuse
Before ourselves or God
To have gone thru this life
And not to have preached the gospel

Forever friend

Friends I have had
friends I have known
But where is the friend
who has seen me and grown
For friendship it seems
is seldom indeed
Cause friends are forever
in want or in need
And you my dear friend
Who now hold my heart
Shall I never forsake
and never depart

Oh take me away
my friend and my love
And sing me the song
that feels like a hug
And whisper to me
Your secrets unknown
You are the one
whom I love and I know
You own my smile
Forever and true
Here is my heart
I give it to you

real love

Real love is . . .

Turning the other cheek . . .
Walking another mile . . .
Giving even though it hurts . . .
Giving when no one is watching . . .
Forgiving again and again . . . and again . . . and again . . .
Praying for those who persecute you . . .
Blessing those who curse you . . .
Loving your enemies . . .
Doing what Jesus would do . . .

Dying while we were sinners!
